Equity Unit Newsletter

The new Equity and Diversity website brings together the countless equity and diversity activities, projects, and committed stakeholders at the University for the first time. It provides all details on how the guiding principles of access, belonging, and community are implemented as crosscutting issues in daily university life and on how you can participate.

The Equity Unit is setting up a new measure to boost structural gender equality within the female professors program of the BMFTR: One-month overlap funding can be provided for statutory maternity leave or parental leave to train the replacement and to (re)train the returning female academic (postdoctoral researchers and professors) before and after statutory maternity leave periods or before and after parental leave periods of at least 6 months. 

The Family Office has updated its pages on the various (leisure) offers for families on campus and in the City of Hamburg. Check out the Family Life on Campus website! Under “Free time activities” you will find lots of exciting University activities and events for children and families. The page “Further activities in Hamburg for families with children” holds numerous offers for University members. 

The Equity Unit supports the nationwide campaign HOCHSCHULEN ZEIGEN HALTUNG for a welcoming, cohesive, and free university cultureagainst anti-democratic influences and attacks. The campaign aims to convey a clear statement and commitment to core democratic values and to raise awareness of how the latest political events threaten our democratic and cohesive university culture.
